varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
appellation: Paso Robles (64% Santa Margarita Ranch, 36% San Juan Creek)
Oak Aging: 30% New French Oak for 14 months
Vintage Notes: The 2020 vintage began with a moderate spring and early summer conditions that helped strengthen vine health. Record heat spikes in August and September contributed to an earlier than average harvest, with fruit developing fantastic depth of flavor, aromatic complexity and vibrant acidity.
Tasting Notes: Fragrant scents of red cherry and plum lead into fresh, bright flavors of strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate, backed by hints of star anise and clove. The soft tannins and balanced acidity provide structure and a lush, velvety texture.
varietal: 83% Petite Sirah, 15% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc
appellation: California (82% Lodi, 17% Lake County, 1% Napa Valley)
Oak Regimen: 14 months in 30% one-year-old American barrels
Winemaker Notes: Grapes were picked in the second half of October 2019. Color and tannin structure were near perfect. We made sure the fermenting grapes were not over-extracted by early pressing. Adam chose older oak because the flavors were so complimentary, and felt they should be highlighted.
Tasting Notes: Inky purple color all the way through. Aromas of boysenberry pie filling with notes of cinnamon and cedar. Ripe flavors of dark fruit at the front of the palate followed with notes of black cherry and blueberry jam. Fairly structured with a delicate acid thread and lush, melting tannins. Great mouthful of wine that has a pretty serious finish.
varietal: 76% Merlot, 12% Petite Sirah, 12% Tannat
appellation: California (86% Paso Robles, 14% Lodi)
Oak Aging: 25% neutral French oak barrels
Vintage Notes: After a dry winter, the 2020 growing season began with mild spring temperatures. Heat spikes in the late summer contributed to hotter than average conditions throughout the state. Harvest commenced about three weeks early for the grapes in this blend and finished up in mid-October, with yields approx. 30% lower than usual. Overall, there has been excellent, intense flavor concentration in the 2020 fruit, particularly
from Paso Robles.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of black cherry and cassis lead into big, rich flavors of plum, blackberry and dark chocolate. Firm tannins are balanced by a bright acidity and smooth texture. Pair this Merlot with burgers, barbecue and any pastas with a strong red sauce or pesto.
appellation: California (67% San Juan Creek, 17% Santa Margarita Ranch, 16% Edna Valley)
Oak Aging: 50% New French Oak, 50% American Oak
Winemaker Notes: The 2020 vintage saw an early harvest with smaller-than-average crop. All grapes were taken directly to press as whole clusters, gently pressed into tanks, cold-settled, racked as clean juice, and fermented over a two-m nth period at very cool temperatures. Once primary fermentation completed, the lot from San Juan Creek went through a complete secondary fermentation to add a rich, buttery component.
Tasting Notes: The golden color in the glass hints at the bright scents of stone fruit and yellow apple, underscored by rich, toasted oak. Ripe, round flavors of pineapple and mango are complimented by notes of vanilla and butter.
varietal: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot
appellation: California (58% Paso Robles, 42% Lodi)
Oak Aging: : 15% in one-year-old American and French barrels for 15 months. Balance in neutral barrels.
Vintage Notes: After a dry winter, the growing season began with mild spring temperatures. Heat spikes in the late summer contributed to hotter than average conditions throughout the state, producing excellent flavor concentration in the fruit with slightly below average yields.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of blackberry and raspberry are accompanied by notes of fragrant lilac and vanilla. Rich and expressive from first sip, this is a food friendly Cabernet Sauvignon that bursts with flavors of juicy plum, black cherry and strawberry, along with a hint of sweet baking spices.
varietal: Pinot Noir
Winemaker Notes: First and foremost, this wine must taste great cold with intense fruit flavors and, as it warms up, stays in balance. Second, the wine’s tannins had to be softened. They’re still there, but they’re in a form we call “melting tannins”. They’re so soft and supple that they could be confused for the fruit flavors. Perfect for your backpack, swimming pool, ice chest or for tossing in your bag before heading to a friend’s.
Tasting Notes: Flavors and aromatics of black cherry coca cola along with notes of red raspberry, pomegranate and rhubarb pie filling. Soft and supple and kind of refreshing. It’s also a pretty serious wine and can stand up to anything put in the bottle.
